Concrete season is getting off to a busy start so I thought I would post a few reviews we have received lately. Thanks to everyone who wrote in!
Keith, of Welgraven Dairy, from Minnesota wrote:
“hey tom,i used the screed to pour a 16’x40′ pad last fall. handled it great. am planning to use it a lot more this summer. will try to get pics then.very satisfied so far. thanks, keith”
Dan from Tennessee sent this in:
“Hi, I’ve used it twice and it worked great. We poured a pad for an outdoor basketball court at our church. One pad was 13×22 the other was 11×22. I used a 14 foot 2×6 as the screed board. Using about half throttle the power screed made that screed board dance. It was impressive. We plan to pour a concrete driveway in the future. Thanks, Dan”
Joseph from Holbrook School District in Holbrook Arizona wrote in:
“Tom, we used the screed last summer when we were pouring half of our parking lot at our Junior High. My guys loved it. It made their job a lot easier. We will be using it again this summer to finish the parking lot. It worked very well. No problems to speak of. This was one of our best purchases. Thank you for following up, and I will let anyone know that it has helped our department. Sorry, no pictures, but I will take some this summer. I will send you some when we get done.
Talk to you later,
We love hearing from all of our customers!
A couple of months ago I posted an example of a concrete driveway enhanced by a decorative stamped edge. Alongside that photo was an example of a regular concrete driveway. The decorative driveway was more appealing than the plain concrete driveway and the same can be done with a back patio as well.
Rodrigo from Nevada sent in these photos of some work he had completed using the TTI Screedright Pro concrete screed.
This concrete patio was first formed up using a flexible forming system. Either an outside curb was formed first or Rodrigo simply leveled off the concrete in one flat pour. The crew used concrete stamps to obtain a cool texture to the concrete patio. Control joints were cut into the slabs to prevent undue cracking along the concrete slab. After the concrete had time to dry, the crew used concrete stain to place color on the patio. The rounder patio has a darker brown edging that helps the star in the middle to pop.
The rectangular patio was first formed up using wood forms. The concrete was screeded off and then allowed to settle some before stamps and color were added to it as well. I am a bit stumped as to how they obtained the “marbling” design in this example. Anyone out there in concrete world, please pipe in if you know how Rodrigo obtained that look!
And as always, happy screeding!
Browett Builders Inc is a family run business based in Victoria British Columbia. Browett Builders specializes in both residential and commercial construction. John Browett purchased a TTI Screedright Pro several years ago and posted these photos to their website. These photos are of a concrete driveway replacement. John and crew must have first tore out the existing driveway which is a big job in and of itself. It is a good idea to have a backhoe or a skidsteer to help with the concrete demolition. Browett Building chose to do this driveway in two pours by forming up two long slabs. This works great with the TTI Screedright Pro as it requires forms to ride along. Once the first slab in poured and dried, it can be used to boarder the remaining area.
The website contains cool renovation and new construction projects. Browett Building understands the personal touches of operating a small family business. Thanks for posting, John and best of luck to your great business!
Tom and crew were working on boxing up a new run of concrete screeds recently. Karen grabbed the video camera and got a few shots.
The TTI Screedright Pro ships in one box and is lightweight enough to go UPS. Because this concrete screed utilizes a wooden 2 X 4 as a screed bar, there is no large expensive screed bar to ship.
The TTI Screedright Pro is usually shipped same day and takes anywhere from one to five business days to arrive.
Shipping outside the United States is optional as well.
I finally put a video together of our stop-in to see Steve at Triton Marine Construction in Oahu Hawaii. Triton Marine purchased two concrete screeds to use for their company. After shipping them UPS to Hawaii, Steve and crew retrofitted the screed to meet their need. They work on the famous “Cam Highway” on Oahu by repairing the concrete decking. Steve told us that they use a fast drying quick lay concrete to patch up spots on the highway and then use the TTI Screedright Pro to strike off the wet concrete. The concrete screed is a big help in expediting fast, flat concrete pours like the highway decking repair in Hawaii.
Triton Marine extended the handle bars on the TTI Screedright Pro to reach across the highway. Triton Marine also modified the screed to accept a true 2″ X 4″ magnesium screed bar.
The damaged highway decking is first sprayed with a high power stream of water that leaves the steel reinforcement exposed. The area is then filled with concrete and struck off with the concrete screed. The process is so efficient that the repaired stretch of highway is ready for traffic in a matter of hours.
We had a great trip and one of the highlights was certainly seeing the screed on the job site! Mahalo Steve and Triton Marine!
The TTI Screedright Pro is now on facebook! The TTI Screedright Pro can be found all over the United States and several countries around the world. Sign in and post questions, comments, and photo’s of your company and projects. We are looking forward to hearing from all of our great customers!
