What is concrete?
The first step in any concrete job is to understand
the properties of concrete. Basic concrete mix is made up of cement,
water, and aggregates.Cement and water combine to form a glue that
hardens the aggregate in the mix. Water is a crucial element in
the concrete mixture. Not only does it mix with the concrete to
form the glue for concrete, but it allows for a workable pour and
finishing of the mixture. Adding water diminishes concrete strength
and can also increase the chances of surface defects. The quality
contractor will want to pour a "dryer mix" to insure the
durability of the concrete. Aggregates serve as the filler in concrete
mix. Media such as sand, gravel or crushed stone are used in varying
quantities.
Trade Tool Innovations LLC offers
a quality concrete screed for the quality contractor. The TTI Screedright
Pro is an all steel power screed that utilizes a wood 2"X4"
screed board that the contractor cuts to fit his job. The unique
